NB For the past year these programmes have been running from 11 to 12 on Monday mornings. Some parents have suggested a start time of 12 o'clock might help with travel arrangements. FEEDBACK please!!
Workshops will last for ninety minutes for ages 10+, and forty five minutes each for the younger age groups.
Parents of the older group can drop off twenty minutes before start time and collect half hour after workshop finishes.
All family members are welcome to wait/socialise in the communal area and participants are encouraged to bring lunch and eat together after the workshops.
There will be a workshop cost of £2 per session to cover costs.

A visit to the folk and transport museum, bring a picnic and clothes for wet weather. We'll meet in the folk park and explore together or in groups, bring a picnic snack and cloths for all weathers- this is mostly an outdoor experience. Let us know if you are interested in meeting the group.
We will be travelling on the train from to Derry (it's a nice journey under the cliffs at Mussenden and along by the sea) at a time agreed between attendees - some may be coming from Belfast, others joining the trip at Coleraine. We will walk along over the Peace Bridge and to see the walls, stopping off for lunch and then visit St. Columb's Cathedral where there is an audio-visual presentation etc.We can complete the self-guided circum-navigation of the walls, stop for and ice-cream and spend the rest of the time in St. Columb's park. It's a very manageable walk and the schedule is flexible to accomodate all staminas and lengths of leg.
Anyone who wants to join us is very welcome, we'll keep the organisation loose and let people move at their own pace, organising to meet at different points as it suits us.
A casual zoo trip and picnic, all welcome. Please let us know if you would like us to wait for you, or just keep your eye out for us around the zoo. We will meet at 11 outside the entrance, before seeing the animals and ending with a play in the excellent new park. Bring clothes for all weathers and a picnic.
Every year we make a special effort to have an exciting week near the start of September - it allows us to welcome those starting their first year of home education, to reconnect after the summer, to kick start our year...
Everyone should feel free to organise their own events - and if they clash with others, or spill into other weeks, then don't worry too much - the more options and excitement we have then the better NBTSW'16 will be!
WIld times in the wild woods for Not Back To School Week - bring food and clothes for all weathers. There will be a fire, marshmallows, trees to paint, earth to dig, things to climb. We don't bow to bad weather so be prepared! Free to attend but let us know for numbers.
