We will make and eat pizza and some sort of pudding together. The littlest ones will enjoy the stretchy dough and the sprinkling of ingredients, the bigger ones can get involved with chopping and measuring. Everyone can enjoy eating. We can also plan activities around the theme- maybe designing menus for our pizzeria..?

Getting Ready for the Chemistry Fair

Tue, 17/06/2014 (All day)
Getting Ready for the Chemistry Fair

Today we started a few experiments to have them ready for the N. Down Co-Op Chemistry event next week.

- started dissolving an egg shell with vinegar

- made a super saturated sugar solution and started some crystals

- weighed our hands using the water displacement method (just because we got to talking about how the level of the water went up as we added sugar)

- trialed the little pop rockets - two out of three failed twice but the ones that went really went high!

Tue, 24/06/2014 - 10:30am - 2:30pm
Marquis Hall, Bangor

Each family will be bringing their own chemistry experiment to demonstrate to the group and to let the other children try.

We will also be looking at the periodic table of the elements, making models of molecules and of course lots of fun experiments.

Please also bring a salt and/or sugar crystal that you have grown to compare with the group.

Please also bring a vegetarian lunch to share.

The BBC will be filming, if you don't want to appear on camera please let us know.
