Home Educator "Takes Over The Radio"

Jack, aged 8, was excited to win the opportunity to 'take over the radio' as part of Young At Art's Belfast Children's Festival.

He, and four other children between 8-12, were given a great media training day and tour of the UTV studios in Belfast. Then each was given their assignment.

Jack was asked to watch and review a show called 'Bang' by Volpinex, a French group. It was an exciting and hilarious western film.

The two performers created, filmed and projected their film in front of the audience- Jack particularly liked their arguments and funny mistakes!

Later, at the studio he got to watch the news bulitin being broadcast before recording his own review and interview, which was broadcast on U105 later that week.

When he appeared in the Coleraine Chronicle he was rather surprised to be called a 'schoolboy'! So he had an education in all aspects of the media- including the perils of being misrepresented in the press!
